Hello there.
Today, I was able to celebrate Kole Yardley for being an independent worker in the class. This month, I am watching for confident students who are willing to make mistakes, admit they make mistakes, and also bring their knowledge of topics to the classroom.
In Math, we are working on a flip book for numbers between 11 and 20. The students chose the number they want to share their understanding about, writing 5 number sentences and drawing pictures for these. I am teaching my students to aim for quality not quantity. This assignment should take two periods because it is accurate and neatly presented.
During our writing period, the students had to do a journal about having a snowy day. They drew pictures and wrote about that picture. This was an assessment from which I will teach in order to deepen their understanding of journal writing.
Hopefully, tomorrow, all the students will have boxes and we can start to think about our dioramas and what is needed to display the needs and environments of their chosen dinosaur. We worked on our own creation of dinosaurs. We had fun with this.
