Good evening!

A huge shout out to the PTA for allowing us to spend the afternoon with 'The Grinch'. Our students enjoyed this animation, and honoured the school with their manners and behaviour. 

Our day was short but busy. We did our calendar wall work, then rehearsed for the concert. After that, we did some more work for our portfolios to be ready for conferences next week. Later, we listened to music while making snowflakes. We also had our weekly spelling test. Next we did our agenda. During lunch, we packed our things and then headed to the bus.

Wow, November is done tomorrow!

The Grinch - please wear uniforms, no house sweatshirts.

The concert - we are rehearsing and making posters. Please have your child wear a red top of some sort, even Christmasy ones with dark pants. We voted and Santa hats won the day. 

Conferences - the students are gathering work they have done over the past 3 months, those they are proud of and those they could have done better. They get to explain the difference. 


We continue to review adding and subtracting skills. As of Monday, we move on to Temperature, Time, and Money but the students will still work on adding and subtracting packets in the afternoon. 

We also start our next unit, Outrageously Organized. Our trip to Zehrs was a precursor of this unit.

We are working on subtraction from 10 flip books using pictures and number sentences. We are also working on our poem for the Christmas Concert. Please help your child find pictures to put on 12x18 posters.

Good afternoon:

Several announcements:

Parent/Student conferences are next week. Your child brought home a schedule and 3 choices for you to fill out and return ASAP so I can schedule appointments. I will post the schedule on here and in emails. 

Casual Day is Wednesday; Thursday is Birthday Circle Day because Friday is the Movie Afternoon Day.

Students brought home a Christmas poem with their line underlined or highlighted. They are to find pictures for that line. The posters are 12 inches by 18 inches so make sure the pictures are big, bold, silly, and colourful. They will glue the pictures on the poster at school. 

We had our pre spelling test with the following weekly words: tent, went, lent, bent, ant, pant, chant, mint, hint, print - bonus slant, meant; leg, let, lit, log, lot, lid, lip, led, lag, lap bonus - lab, law. We did one page from the workbook. 

In Math, students are creating a subtract from 10 flip book with pictures and number sentences. These should be done by Friday.

Hola!

We did our Mexico presentation today. We sang Come Join the Fun, Cinco de Mayo. The students did very well. We also shared about Greece, Australia, Spain, India, Britain, and Ukraine.

We worked on subtraction from 10. We also visited our Literacy Challenges.
