Good Evening.
Today, we did more estimating. The students were in groups of 2 and 3 looking at gold and yellow cubes, estimating how many of each colour, recording that guess, then counting to get the actual number. They really enjoyed this. This estimating and counting leads into adding and subtracting which will start in the next week or so.
In Language Arts, we looked at our Word Wall and did alphabetical order for 16 of our words. From there, the students did the stepping, rainbow, sentences, and cut/paste of these and spelling words.
In our Unit, we read chapter 2 of Dinosaurs Before Dark and met a Pteranodon outside the treehouse where Jack and Annie had discovered piles and piles of books. We also discussed features of dinosaurs in the Jurassic Period.
All in all, a very nice productive day.
