Good day.

There is only one list of spelling words this week. The one group is doing review.

We continue to work with sequencing. Today, had to place four pictures of a dog being bathed in order. 

I want to acknowledge the parents who have attended conferences this week. Thank you for your vested interest in your child's education. I trust this glimpse was positive and informative as to what takes place daily in the classroom.

Good Evening.

Today, we held our monthly IB Assembly. Jonathan Pintwala was awarded the Thinker Award. After that, Miss Clarkson lead us through the next two attributes of Respect and Tolerance. Mr. Playford walked us through the order of our Christmas Concert so we are prepared how to walk onto the stage, do our presentation, and leave the stage in a safe, orderly way.

During Literacy, we worked in our spelling books and visited the challenges. Whether building sentences, reading the poem or room, rainbow writing, stepping, or listening to stories on Starfall.com, everyone is busy and productive.

We are slowly learning about being outrageously organized. We talked about the information that is necessary on a birthday invitation so guests know where, when, who, and what will take place at this celebration.

Our conferences were positive, informative, and delightful.

Good evening!

Today, we started our new Math Unit - Time, Temperature, Money. We talked about events that happen yearly - birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Monthly - Birthday Circle, IB Assembly, and weekly - Pizza Day, Art. We will be covering ordinal numbers, first, next, after that, etc. 

We also started our new Unit of Study - Outrageously Organized. We looked at the meanings of these words and events that need to be organized in order to function - birthday parties, school trips. 



The four set of parents who attended parent/student conferences shared the Math, Literacy, and Writing, as well as the units of study with their child. All conferences were positive, fun, informative, and we look forward to our new focuses in Math, Writing, and units of study.

Good evening!

A huge shout out to the PTA for allowing us to spend the afternoon with 'The Grinch'. Our students enjoyed this animation, and honoured the school with their manners and behaviour. 

Our day was short but busy. We did our calendar wall work, then rehearsed for the concert. After that, we did some more work for our portfolios to be ready for conferences next week. Later, we listened to music while making snowflakes. We also had our weekly spelling test. Next we did our agenda. During lunch, we packed our things and then headed to the bus.

Wow, November is done tomorrow!

The Grinch - please wear uniforms, no house sweatshirts.

The concert - we are rehearsing and making posters. Please have your child wear a red top of some sort, even Christmasy ones with dark pants. We voted and Santa hats won the day. 

Conferences - the students are gathering work they have done over the past 3 months, those they are proud of and those they could have done better. They get to explain the difference. 


We continue to review adding and subtracting skills. As of Monday, we move on to Temperature, Time, and Money but the students will still work on adding and subtracting packets in the afternoon. 

We also start our next unit, Outrageously Organized. Our trip to Zehrs was a precursor of this unit.
