Hello All!
Today, we had our IB assembly and Santino was recognized for his enthusiasm to learn and take part in discussions. We also learned that February's focus is on being open-minded, willing to listen to other sides of the conversation.
We continue to look at inventions. Today, we watched a YouTube video about the start and success of LEGO, the fires, the struggles, the determination of the family to bring imagination to the fore. The students really listened to the facts of the story.
Tomorrow, we listen to the other grades' speeches along with Taylor and Arya. Shine!
Then Thursday, we will celebrate 100's Day with crowns and gluing 10 x 10 things to poster boards.

Greetings!
We are gearing up for 100's day this Thursday. Today. we coloured, cut out, clued crowns onto bristol board for Thursday.
We continued to study Bar and Tally Graphs in our packets. We also had our spelling test.

Well, will he see his shadow?
We took a survey of the class today to ask will the groundhog see his shadow tomorrow. Yes? No? We will revisit that survey Monday to see who predicted correctly!
We also announced who would be in the Gym on Wednesday for the school wide Speech Competition. Based on memory, poise, and time, Taylor and Arya qualified. I enjoyed all the speeches. They were interesting and the students worked really hard and presented so positively in class.
Today in Music, we enjoyed a short Go Noodle video using patterns for movement and dance. This was followed by some Cosmic Yoga for Kids. The poses stretch various muscles in the body and require some focus and balance.
In Math, we continue to study tally graphs, bar graphs, and pictographs. We read the questions together, write the number sentence together, then the students answer the questions independently. Soon, they will organize their own tally graph which will be turned into picto and bar graphs.
