It's Friday!

Every day after assembly we work with the calendar. It is a given. We are getting smarter and faster, and some of the students help the others, which makes for a positive community. 

In Gym, the students had to work as a team to do some construction.




















Later, we worked on our spelling words. This is sometimes challenging but worth the effort and time. 


Finally, in Math, the students worked in groups to sort objects. They had to decide to sort according to size, shape, or colour. then they had to draw their sorting onto a chart. 


We have been a community for 9 days now. Have a wonderful weekend. Please, if your child orders food, send in the forms Monday. Also, ask them for the Terry Fox envelope and letter.

Good evening!

Today we worked on a list of our favourite toys. 

Later, we drew trees that grow, using growing patterns. 


Students are working on reading the weekly poem and finding different length words.

Good evening!

Today started with a school photo at the playground. Later we had our class and individual photos.

We spent time reading our morning message, poem of the week, and working on our calendar numbers and words. 

For our Unit of Inquiry - Who we are - we talked about important people in our lives. We listed mom, dad, brother, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The students were to list these people and draw pictures of four of them. 

In Math, we drew pictures of ice cream cones with 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 scoops of ice cream for growing patterns. The pictures are interesting. I will post photos tomorrow. 

In Grammar, I had the students in groups of 2 and 3 studying 24 labelled pictures of nouns. They enjoyed this activity. 

I appreciated the various conversations I had with parents at the BBQ, it was a delight. We were blessed with beautiful weather and wonderful PTA parents who contributed their time, energy, and expertise with the food. Thank you for your commitment.

Good evening, families!

Today was full as per the usual. Our morning assembly went longer because we talked about being inquirers and curious. We also played a mingling and grouping. game.






During our snacks and lunch, we are enjoying some Youtube Berenstain Bear videos about friendship, cleaning our rooms, and why it's important to be healthy.




Today we made a list of our favourite foods, then selected 4 to draw and label. We have also listed responsibilities we have at home. 



After writing in our agendas, we work on word sheets, colour-by-word, then printing sentences.



Please remember to wear full uniforms tomorrow for pictures. Also, for those of you attending the BBQ, it starts at 3:30 and ends at 5:30. See you there!

Good day!

We continue to work with the Calendar wall, writing the days of the week, number digits and words, time in analog and digital, as well as number sentences. Each student is getting better and better.

We drew pictures of rules that we follow at school and home. Some are the same - be kind, some are specific - take your shoes off at the door.

W continued to work on our spelling words from last week - a, one, at, cat, an, ran, can, two, man, as and the bonus words tag, hand, candle, flag, and plan. There are various lists to write, fill-in-the-blank sentences and finishing sentences with list words. Right now, two weeks per list is needed to recognize the words and use them in sentences.

In Math, we worked on patterning and sorting, finishing with animals and socks.

Agendas are getting filled in faster. I gave the students homework duo-tangs so you can always see what is being taught in class.
