Hello there!

Today, our class presented a dance to the 2/3 class. It was well done. The students should be very proud of themselves.

We worked with inches today measuring an assortment of items in the class including a stapler, chalk, scissors, pencils, cubes, etc. We continue to work on regrouping for addition. This is a tough concept for some students.

Please help your child research an artist from your family lineage. They have been assigned a country. They need the artist's name, a picture of their work and three facts about that person. Enjoy the challenge.

Casual Day

It is always so much fun seeing everyone's idea of casual clothes.

As noted in each agenda, our class is presenting a dance they rehearsed in Gym on Friday. It is fun. Don't forget they need a hat of some sort and either a necklace, scarf or bandanna. Thanks

Today, we used regular and jumbo paperclips to measure pencil crayons, crayons, scissors, the long side of our Math books, length of our hands, and the width of the tables.

Later, we finished our nine faces using various lines.

Friday is our Birthday Circle.

Greetings!

Today, we measured various objects around the classroom using our hands in a linear fashion. First, the students needed to estimate then do the actual. They surprised themselves by being fairly accurate.

Later, we reviewed the seasons and listed the reasons for liking one particular season. Our challenge seems to be taking these reasons and writing sentences about them.

We traced facial features and hair with thin and thick black markers on 9 faces using a variety of lines.

Have a super evening.

Tomorrow is casual day. Woohoo!!!

Welcome Back!

We are so happy to see Hollie in the class again.

Today, we looked at Linear Measure - standard, non-standard and what these mean. They are a lot to take in but we will start using them tomorrow.

We had two new spelling lists and were using the words in various challenges during Literacy block.

Later, we started our Art Attack unit - we used a variety of lines to complete faces with hair, eyes, ears, hoses, mouths, and glasses maybe. Tomorrow, we will trace our drawings with black marker.

Tonight, can you assist your child with the family tree? They need to know the country of origin and birth for family members going back 4 generations. Thanks

It's FRIDAY!!!

Today, we played with geo-boards and elastics making 2d shapes. The students had so much fun.

We had a special guest, Darlene, from the 'Artists in the School' program helping our students paint portraits.

Have a wonderful Break! See you March 25!

One More Day!

Today, we did our usual morning routine. In Math, we played with the left over recycled shapes to build structures with partners and groups. This was a fun way to end our Geometry Unit.

Later, we placed pictures of shapes into our Portfolios for memory's sake. All the inventions went home today.

Have a lovely evening.
